Therapy in Photography

It was a really nice evening today. I couldn't let it go to waste, so I got my camera and headed out for a bit. - something I haven't done in a few weeks; which is odd for me. 

I love getting lost in nature and capturing it with my camera. It's my therapy, both mentally, emotionally and spiritually. My dream is to be a professional photographer one day.

Spring is Here!

Today I captured this bee buzzing from flower to flower. (It had such a loud buzzing noise)

 I enjoyed watching the bee and taking its picture. Nature fascinates me so much. One of my favorite things about Spring is seeing flowers bloom all over the place. Speaking of blooming; My little forget-me-nots are sprouting! ..I had, at first, thought I messed up because a few weeks went by without any sign of life, but after a day of rain, there's little leaves all over the pot. (I'll take a photo of that tomorrow)

Where My Heart Is ..

Here lately I've been exploring other people's photography and their techniques. I enjoy looking at photos and the hidden messages each one holds. A photo has a way of saying something without using words. Some really reach out and inspire me, while others stop and make me think.

I wanted to try something different when I took this photo (on the left) a few evenings ago. I wanted it to express my love for nature and photography.

Autumn Treasures

It was a beautiful day today; Perfect for a walk to the park!

Despite the fact that my camera battery was about dead (Really must remember to charge it more often) I managed to get a few really nice photos in. The leaves are turning to a golden brown and dandelions are appearing. I have always enjoyed this time of the year. If you ever think about coming to Arizona, now is the time!

Speaking of which - Two of my friends will be "Trekkin' for Ta Tas in Arizona" on November 12-14th for the Susan G. Komen 3-day walk for a cure - I'm very proud of both!

Feels like Sping ..

Today has been one of those days for me. Sort of feeling down, So I decided to get away for a bit and escape into the world I see through my camera.


We're finally reaching the mid 80s here in Arizona. - My favorite time of the year. It's been like spring here with the cooler weather and a few days of rain.

Flowers are blooming every where!

Peace in the Rain

I got quite the surprise yesterday evening - It rained!

Now I know many of you are thinking "So what?", but when it rains here in Arizona; relieving my day from the typical 100+ degree heat, I consider it something to celebrate!

I have always enjoyed the rain. The smell of it; Sound of it, and everything else that is included. I also love walking in it ..and, of course, taking pictures as I walk in it. Which is exactly what I did yesterday evening!

I don't know why, but for me, walking in the rain makes me feel so free from everything. I feel that way when I'm taking pictures, too. As if I am in my own world, away from worries and sadness. I can be me without caring what others may think. I feel a sense of peace and inspiration as I capture the world around me with my camera.

After many pictures later, I was soaked from the rain. Finally it stopped (we had a great thunder storm!) and started to clear up a bit. And that's when I saw it, the most beautiful, magnificent, breath taking scene I ever have seen

 The sun breaking through the black clouds. You had to be there, standing where I was standing to get the amazing feeling I felt inside ..That inspiration; That freedom; That peace I so needed. And there I was ....taking pictures of this glorious moment; feeling all those emotions in one, when it suddenly hit me. No matter how many heartaches and letdowns I may feel from time to time, Life is a gift and I am free. Since hitting adult age, I feel like my life has became so complicated and unsure. When I saw that sun breaking through and the beautiful rainbow behind me, I remembered something ..I am not alone; God is watching ...and ...I am in the making...

Capturing Beauty

I don't know what the future has in store for me, but I hope it involves photography. It is the only thing I truly love doing!

I took this picture earlier today and I am so happy with the results of it. Just recently I've been playing around with these two programs -- Picasa 3 and Picnik -- both owned by Google. If you love taking pictures like I do, I'm sure you will have fun with these sites, too! Some the features it has really brings out the beauty of a photo. I used Picnik for the photo I uploaded on the right. Above is the original. (Click to get the full size)
