The Disturbing Truth

These last few days, posts all over facebook have been put up about a product that does animal testing. Along with the posts is a graphic photo of a dying and helpless cat who was a victim of being tested on. Many people block the horrific images; saying they can’t bear to look at it. Even I had thought of it, but decided not to. Being a voice for those who can’t speak is something I have always felt very strongly for. We cannot hide the truth just because we can’t handle it. People need to be aware and stand up for what is right. After reading some of the posts, I decided to look for a list of other companies who do animal testing. I was shocked to see the long list of everyday items we use that do animal testing, including companies that make things for our pets; such as litter and cat/dog food. I then went looking at the things I had to see if they had that little label (Usually a bunny label) that says “not tested on animals”. To my relief, most of what I used doesn’t do animal testing ..but some didn’t mention. I stayed awake most of the night last night thinking about this and the disturbing truth I had learnt. It made me very angry. The products we use in our everyday lives; such as hair products, make-up, lotions, perfumes, even household cleaning products are from companies who are probably one of the biggest, if not THE biggest, animal abusers in this country. It makes me sick, angry, and very sad. We live in a society were life (in any form) is not valued and protected. A uproar is needed ..change is needed.

Finally - got a roadrunner photo!

I have always wanted to get a photo of a Roadrunner for awhile now. They aren't easy to capture, but today I got lucky! I spotted one dashing off towards a tree and then run up it.
