Precious Pictures

Today I found some pictures of Twix I didn't know I had. They were in a folder on another computer.

I took these pictures about a week or two before Twix went missing.

Six Years Ago Today

Six Years ago today my life changed forever because of a cat I got as an early birthday present.

Twix at 8wks old
It all begin with a dog we use to have. I was very close to him, but he had some aggression issues with younger children and we weren't able to keep him. Even though he belonged to the family, I always thought of him as "Mine". It broke my heart when I lost him. I cried almost every night ..then came Twix a few months later.

She was this little tiny fluff ball. Too cute for words. I named her Twix after my favorite candy bar. The name fit her perfectly because of her coloring. One of her back paws was all cream/caramel colored (including the pad). She was so independent and acted as if she owned the place - Total Tortie!

Twix was very affectionate, but on her own terms. She also was jealous of our other pets; not liking me showing affection to the others. What was amazing about Twix is that her & I shared the same personality in many ways. I was told once that Red Heads (people with red hair - like me) and Torties are like that. I use call her my 'Baby Girl" as if she actually was. Twix & I had a very special connection. She always knew when I needed her by resting on or beside me. I could always tell by looking into her eyes.

"Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened" -Anatole France

Twix opened up my heart and made me a better person. She turned me into a cat lover and inspired me. Believe it or not, she actually made me look at things in a different way. It's something I don't think anyone could understand unless they are a cat/dog owner.

I miss my "Little Girl" so much.
Where ever she is, I hope she is well and happy.
Maybe one day I will find her ..I pray for that.

Reflections of Preston

I think a cat's eyes say a lot about them. One of my favorite pictures of Twix is this one of her looking out the window. To me, it defines everything Twix was. You could just see it in her eyes - Her inner beauty; her deepness; her mysterious side. Her eyes always made me feel so peaceful inside.

This Morning, as I was laying in bed, I spotted Preston sitting down across the room and had called for him. He just stood there. Then the train that passes by every morning had blown its whistle. Preston did this mad dash over me (Which hurt, btw) and headed straight for the window. Preston loves looking out the window, but of course, every cat does!

That's when I grabbed my camera and decided to try and capture a picture of him looking out the window - like I did with Twix.

I knew the end result would be very different then the photo I took of Twix a few yrs ago, but I love the images I got of Preston. - He is a total boy who is 100% naughty WITH the full acknowledgment of getting away with ANYTHING if I allowed him to.

A Birthday and Anniversary ~

Two events today, and there's nothing special about remembering them. Twix would have been five years old today if she was with me. I don't know if she's alive or not. I want to believe she is ..but I don't know. - We lived in area with coyotes, and during that time, there was also large construction trucks passing by daily. She was either stolen or killed.

Today is also the one year Anniversary of Laurel's passing. She died suddenly last year, leaving behind her two cats and her dog. - Aldo, Tess, and Noelle -Plus many, many friends who miss her dearly. Aldo & Noelle, through the help of many people on Catster, had found new loving homes. Tess went missing and has yet to be found. I pray she has been found by a loving family, and is happy & well.

(Aldo's new owner is going through some hard times at the moment and needs help with vet bills for Aldo. If anyone who is reading this is a Catster member and is not a member at "Q4Aldo", please click on the link and join. ~Click Here~)

I miss Twix & my Friend so much. Losing them both has been so hard. Losing Twix in April, and Laurel a month after. It all feels like yesterday to me.

My beautiful Twix

Thanks to a friend of mine, I was able to retrieve a picture of Twix that I lost about 1yr ago due to a computer error.

This picture of her was taken about two years ago. She was sun bathing outside while I was out with the dog. She looked so beautiful just laying there, soaking up the sun. The light really brought out the beauty of her eyes and coat. Twix enjoyed being outside, though I hated it. (I feared of losing her ..which I did)

When we were out together, she would follow me. I would be out walking the dog, and right beside me was Twix. It made me smile every time. I always laughed and thought to myself "I wonder what the neighbors think?".

That was so long ago now..

Twix was my baby girl, my pride & joy, my soul pet (That special one & only).

I still don't know how I'm making it without her.

I'm doing okay. Just trying to hang in there. Twix's 5th birthday is next month, the 13th, along with the first anniversary of my friend's death. (Both on the same day. Actually my friend, Laurel, didn't die on the 13th, but that was when the news broke out)
With all the things going on, including dealing with past things & memories, I just feel so out of it.

Btw, the other pictures I posted here is another wild flower I found, plus some trees I thought were nice. - You know how I am with pictures.

The weepy looking tree is the one with the bird's nest. (Pictured in my previous post)

Gone One Year Today ~

Twix has been missing one year ago today. It's hard for me to believe it. I miss her so much...

The pictures below were taken just a few weeks before she went missing. The one on the right was made by a dear friend of mine. April 16th was Twix's purr day.

Happy Spring ~

These last few days have been beautiful. Every where I look, flowers are blooming!

Well, you all know how I am with the camera..
Yesterday I headed out and took some more pictures. - This time I took pictures of the flowers we have planted out front. They looked so beautiful in the sunlight!

One of those beautiful flowers is my little girl Twix. - She will be gone 1yr this April 2nd.

I hope everyone who is reading this will have a nice spring time this year.

Happy Spring!

Those Eyes ~

No matter what my day was like, looking deep into these two eyes always gave me that "Everything is okay" feeling.

To have that with her was truly special. It was as if she knew my thoughts and I knew hers.

I miss you dearly, Twixy, and your beautiful eyes...

Twixy All Dressed Up

I don't really keep track of Catster's blog, but yesterday, while visiting the homepage, I saw an entry that reminded me of Twix.

Skeezix was having a contest for purrs all dressed up. I didn't enter Twix in it, but thought it would be nice to share some of my pictures of her being all "dressed up" here on my blog.

I really can't remember why I dressed her up. I guess it's just some crazy thing pet owners do. And yes, I am crazy!

Twixy at 9-10 weeks old

Aaww. . .If only they would stay this little forever!

Twix is about 9-10 weeks old here in this picture.

One of my favorite memories of her as a kitten was when she would sleep in boxes! She just loved them when she was younger. I remember one night, while laying in bed, I decided to pull out this little red box that was under my bed. I knew Twix was in it. I pulled it out, and there she was ...this little furr ball, curled up! I remember just looking down at her, leaning over in my bed, stroking her furry little head as I was smiling. Twix was a little nipper than, so at that time, I was a bit afraid of petting her. Yes, I know ..I am daft! LOL! But Twix was my first purr, so I didn't know what to expect from a Cat.

Another favorite memory of mine was when she use to walk around the house holding little rubberbands in her mouth. It was so cute to see. She would do the same with small toys. - Just pick them up with her mouth and walk around the house carrying them.

Twix only did one naughty thing when she was a kitten, and that was climbing up curtains. She only did that 3-4 times, and then stopped. I am sad to say that she grew out of these cute little things that she did, but even when older, she still did things that made me smile!
